They then will make a small access to the tooth to remove infection and bacteria before placing medication to assist with healing. We will fill the canal and seal the tooth to keep out bacteria and food.

Because we have removed the blood supply and nerve, the tooth will become more brittle and could break more easily. We often recommend a dental crown after root canal treatment to stabilise the tooth, protect the tooth from cracks and fractures and cover any discolouration.
