Nitrous Oxide (Happy Gas)

We offer nitrous oxide sedation at our practice to help make the visit comfortable for our nervous patients. Safe for both children and adults, nitrous oxide (or happy gas / laughing gas) is available upon request or we may recommend it to our patients with dental phobia. Our dentists are proficient in its use and will be more than happy to answer any questions you might have.

During treatment with nitrous oxide, our patients wear a comfortable, scented nose hood through which pure oxygen and nitrous oxide flows. Our patients experience feelings of warmth and relaxation as well as loss of anxiety. We play relaxing meditation music to make the treatment even more calming. Administration of nitrous gas is very safe and once treatment is complete, the effects are reversed within minutes. We recommend having someone transport you back home.
